Statement of intent

Amelia neill

  1. Have you met the requirements of the brief?

The basic concept of my magazine matches the brief as i have produced 2 front covers, 2 content pages and 2 pages of a working website, that is launched by an Independant publisher

The web pages are interactive and allow the audience to see details about subscriptions and merch via links.

My magazine targets 16–25-year-olds due to my use of young models/ music creators and on-trend merch and music genres such as pop and rap. I have taken inspiration from music artists who are relevant in the music scene currently for 16–25-year-olds, such as Sabrina Carpenter and 21 Savage.

I have shown a clear sense of branding throughout my coursework by using the same fonts and styles, whilst keeping the color scheme the same for each edition.

I have used 6 different images in each of my editions.

I have used effective layout and typography creating. A sense of branding whilst keeping my magazines exciting is worth the photos, text and graphics.

I have used all the main parts of the written text such as a masthead, main cover line, captions, subtitles etc.

Both of my editions have a barcode, date, edition number and price information

I use effective mis-en-scene in both of my editions by the theming of my editions- I keep a strong sense of branding whilst making both my editions exciting and fun by the color scheme.

I show 2 different social groups- male and female

I show a call to action on my editor's note on the content's pages of editions

I have an audio-visual clip of an upcoming artist doing a ‘fit check’ as I believe music and fashio go hand in hand and are both of interest of my target audience

I use many original photos on my magazine, different from my magazines

My website shows appropriate conventions f a website with its original title ’PACE’ and an original menu bar

I use working links to subpages on my website

I use a huge range of media language techniques such as different images, a sense of branding with the fonts, logouts etc.

I use text to introduce the main features of the magazine.

2. How have you used the 4 areas of the theoretical framework, and how do they link together?

Language

Representation

Audience

Institution

I have used contrasting colors to make my magazine stand out

I have used similar layouts in both of my editions

I hacve used the same fonts in all of my products

I represent both genders in my editions in a positive light. they both show self-expression by being individual singer/songwriters

I have represented 2 sexuality groups, by Finn Creed being a gay rapper who is talking about his coming out story

Both of my models give money to the charity Mind, about men’s mental health and Eva is a feminist activist.

My magazine is aimed at a 16-25 audience.

I target this audience by the use of young models who match their age range and so creating a sense of identity.

I take inspiration from current artists such as 21 Savage and Ariana Grande as these are artists from their generation.

I use an eye-catching layout and color palette to target the teen age group.

My magazine is independent which benefits me as i can show diversity and a range of genres

I have focussed my first 2 editions on rap and pop as these are contrasting so i can atttract a wide audience

3. How do you intend your media products to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of digitally convergent nature of your media production?

I have used the same fonts for both my magazine editions, as well as my website

I have used similar layouts and designs in both of my editions.

I have used the same magazine title company in all my products.

I have used photos of the same model for both the front cover and contents page in both of my editions.

Throughout all my coursework, i have used teenage models to adhere to the target audience being teenagers

4.The lead article of both of my editions is an intersexual reference- the first edition takes inspiration from 21 Savage’s album ‘American Dream’, this is his most recent album, and he is a rap artist that i have based my first edition on. The second edition ’Yours sincerely, Eva Pellicci’ takes inspiration from Ariana Grande’s album “yours sincerely, Ariana Grande’ as my second edition takes inspiration from Ariana Grande and her vibe.

5. Easter eggs???
